Another year around the Sun ☀️
A birthday reflection on confidence, community, and the people who help us through life’s twists and turns.

It was my birthday this week, and this girl is feeling reflective! It’s not a milestone age, but I’ve come to believe that every age is special because getting older is a privilege not everyone gets. (Okay, maybe I’m saying this to ease the sting of ageing, but hey, it’s true.)
Leading up to my birthday it was hectic, with a few unexpected twists and turns. I had to have a word with myself, remember my worth and put on my big-girl pants. I’m grateful for the friends, family and fiancé who gave me the courage to stand up for myself in tough situations, both recently and throughout my life.
Life throws curveballs at every stage: pregnancy, the postnatal period, work and personal life. Having people around you who support and cheer you on can help you get through and learn more about yourself along the way.
I’m leaning into the exciting, nerve-racking, scary bits because a little bravery has given me a new perspective. I want Birth Be to be a kind space, free of judgement, where women and parents can support each other.
I’ve been sharing a little Instagram series called ‘A Crisis in Confidence’. It’s something many of us experience, especially after having babies. Confidence in ourselves matters, and so does having others lift us up when we can’t quite do it alone. We weren’t meant to walk this path alone. When you find your people, hold on tight.
And with respect, screw those who are just out to belittle you.
