Baby-proofing support

A safer home for curious little hands.

When your baby starts rolling, reaching and crawling, familiar rooms suddenly look very different. I’ll help you notice the easy-to-miss risks and decide what matters first. My husband, Nathan, can then take care of the agreed fitting, so the practical work is in experienced hands.

A fresh look at familiar rooms

We’ll look at your home from your baby’s new point of view.

You know your home best. I bring more than ten years of childcare experience and a practical eye for the places babies are naturally drawn to as they begin to move.

We can work through the whole home or focus on the rooms your family uses most. You’ll leave with a short, prioritised plan rather than a frightening list of everything that could possibly happen.

If you would like help putting the plan into place, Nathan undertakes all physical fitting and installation. You can enquire about my walkthrough on its own, Nathan’s fitting time on its own when the work is already clear, or both together.

The best time to start is before your baby becomes mobile, but it is never too late to make a few thoughtful changes.

Meet Nathan

Elsa’s husband, bringing years of joinery experience to every fitting visit.

Nathan is Elsa’s husband and has more than nine years of hands-on joinery experience. He previously managed a busy workshop team of ten and is a director and co-founder of specialist timber and joinery business Albion Wood Products.

That experience gives him a sound understanding of materials, suitable fixings and the care needed when working in a family home. He will check that the product and surface are appropriate, follow the manufacturer’s instructions and explain any limitations before starting.

Electrical, gas, glazing, structural work and anything outside the agreed service will always be referred to the right qualified professional.

Support designed around you

Can a home ever be completely baby proof?

No. Baby proofing can reduce avoidable risks, but it cannot make a home risk-free or replace attentive adult supervision. Your child’s abilities and your home will keep changing, so the plan should be reviewed regularly.

Who does what?

Elsa offers the home walkthrough, helps you choose priorities and prepares the written action plan. Nathan undertakes all agreed physical fitting and installation. You can choose either part separately or ask about the combined package.

What can Nathan install?

Nathan can fit suitable non-electrical, non-structural products such as safety gates, cupboard locks, guards, anti-tip straps and cable-management solutions when the product, surface and manufacturer’s instructions are appropriate. He will review the requested work before confirming the visit. Electrical, gas, glazing, structural alterations and anything outside the agreed service need the appropriate qualified professional.

What if I rent my home?

Please check your tenancy and get written permission before any work that needs drilling or permanent fixings. We can prioritise suitable removable options where possible.

Is this a formal safety inspection?

No. This is practical family support informed by Elsa’s early-years experience and Nathan’s joinery and fitting experience. It is not a building survey, product certification or guarantee of safety.
